With the Megan Fox-hosted "Saturday Night Live" season premiere just weeks away, a rumor started circulating on Wednesday morning (September 2) that two new female castmembers had joined the show.
The Comic's Comic reported that Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad, two largely unknown comedians, had signed on for the 35th season of "SNL." There's been no official confirmation from inside NBC or "SNL" that these two have joined the cast. But today, "SNL" vet Bill Hader confirmed to MTV news that Slate and Pedrad are in fact the newest castmembers.
"Yeah, we have two new castmembers," Hader said in response to a question about Slate and Pedrad. "It's gonna be cool."
According to the Comic's Comic report, Slate has performed all over New York, from a one-woman show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre to improv shows in the East Village and Williamsburg. The Iranian-born Pedrad (whose name this reporter must apologize for absolutely butchering on camera) staged a one-woman show in Las Vegas and has performed with the Groundlings.
Hader, hanging out with Anna Faris at Dylan's Candy Bar to promote their upcoming animated film, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," seemed understandably reluctant to delve into greater detail about Slate's and Pedrad's roles on the show. But he did let us know that some new writers have also joined "SNL," which premieres on September 26 with Fox as host.
"It's gonna be a cool season," he said. "We have the Thursday night shows [specials devoted to "Weekend Update"] which were a big hit last season. So it's gonna be good."
A representative for NBC would not confirm the news.
Boy, this video sure tries to hard. At one point, its just Rihanna on camera acting shy, then happy, then just making up actress emotions. Boring. But still, she’s hot, might as well check it out.
The MTV Movie awards went down last night and of course, a flurry of stars showed up. Twilight beat out The Dark Knight for the best movie of the year (gag me, please). Eminem had a great performance but then this weird situation with Borat coming down from the raptors went down and Eminem left,
Scary Spice, otherwise known as Melanie Brown, was out at Tao Beach in Las Vegas this weekend, signing autographs. I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest that Melanie has an ab roller. Call me crazy, but I seriously thing she does. I really want to know who would want her

"We've even branded the weather tonight," joked Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey of the London-like misty drizzle that fell on the brand’s rooftop fete at the Palace Hotel in N.Y.C where a few of his famous friends including Orlando Bloom, Hugh Dancy and his fiance Claire Daines came to party and to
John Mayer is obsessed with Twitter. And when I say obsessed, I mean he should be committed and have his internet connection pulled. So this Rob Drydek guy from the MTV show, Rob and Big, went out and got so wasted he had to have his stomach pumped. And John Mayer was tweeting the entire
